Beyond the Classroom: Rethinking the Purpose of Education and School

By Rachael Oke

When the word "education" or "school" is mentioned, many people still envision a traditional setting where students gather in a building, repeating words after a teacher and copying notes from the board. However, in today's digital age, schools have evolved beyond these limitations. Technology has expanded the classroom beyond four walls, and advancements in knowledge have transformed education into a holistic experience that goes beyond mere letters and numbers.

At Field of Knowledge, our vision is to raise Godly professionals, individuals who will positively influence their communities. We believe that education goes much further than just reading and math skills. It involves the development of personal qualities and strengths that enable people to achieve their spiritual destiny. We think that genuine education must influence not just the intellect, but also the emotions and soul, empowering people to reach their full potential and follow God's intentions for them in life.

In order to accomplish this goal, we have created new systems, frameworks, and strategies that not only teach our students but also prepare them with the qualities needed for success in their futures.

Similarly, we hold the view that education is a shared duty, so we are dedicated to teaching all individuals involved - including parents, educators, and the community - about their contributions towards realizing our goals.

In our weekly series, "Beyond the Class," we will investigate different methods to educate and inform parents, guardians, and teachers on effectively teaching children the necessary knowledge and virtues to succeed in today's ever-evolving world. We are thrilled to welcome you to join us as we transform the meaning of education and inspire the future leaders.
