YOUR ACADEMICS, YOUR PURPOSE

By Rachael Oke

"Instead, be concerned above everything else with the Kingdom of God and with what he requires of you, and he will provide you with all these other things." (Matthew 6:33 )

Your academics are part of God's eternal plan for you. As a child of God, understand that your academic pursuits are a means of fulfilling your purpose, not just a way to fit in with the world. If the people of the world study diligently, we as God's children should strive to do even better. Let's be more intentional and deliberate in our approach to academics.

- Studying: God commands us to "study to show yourself approved unto God" (2 Timothy 2:15).

- Assignments: Find purpose in your assignments beyond just seeking grades or marks.

- Exams: Study for the "high prize" God has set before you, not just for good grades.

Above all, remember...

Ecclesiastes 9:10 says "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going."

Shalom!
